Ladies and gentlemen I don’t really watch ‘Good Morning America’ often; not that the show is bad but I’m more of a night person. However two days ago when Blu, my tech diva, told me the show was going to interview real life ‘superheroes’ well I roused myself up and waited for it to come on. What I saw was this: Phoenix Jones, Red Dragon and Buster Doe of the Rain City Superheroes –
In their interview I think they were pretty clear and professional despite their looks. I have mixed feeling about this personally. On the one hand I think it’s pretty cool normal, everyday people want to help out the community in a albeit unusual, but proactive way. On the other hand however I don’t want them to get hurt or (heaven forbid) die do to the fact they have no law enforcement training, discipline, or back up (their group is only ten people) like the police. Still if they keep themselves grounded, inform the authorities of serious crimes, and keep up the good work they should be fine. After all there are plenty of independent neighborhood watch organizations that do (to an extent) what the Rain City Superheroes are doing right now – they shouldn’t be judged on their attire but rather their actions.
