Trailer-rama (Bonus ropund): Ducktales

Yes I know we’ve reported this on twitter, yes I know I’ve said that Trailer-rama week was last week, and yes I know this is pretty late but I don’t care because one of the greatest platformers evar made is coming back in remastered HD form. All I got to say is Woo Hoo!

If you’re one of the two people who don’t know what the heck Ducktales is, please watch this

and ed-u-ma-cate yourselves.

Trailer-Rama Week – Pacific Rim + BioShock Infinite

It’s a shame but there are not enough giant robot movies out in the world. My earliest movie memory is, you guessed it, giant fighting robots. I don’t remember the name though, all I do remember is a good guy bot fighting a black bad guy bot with four spider-like arms (and no it wasn’t animated –if anyone knows what I’m talking about, and knows the name, please yet me know).  Ever since then I’ve seen giant robo cartoons(foreign & domestic), played giant robo video games (foreign & domestic) and even owned not-so- giant robo action figures (foreign & domestic) – but giant robo movie are a rare thing indeed. Then out of no where here comes this beautiful piece of cinema that shows what they should have done a long time ago when facing any problem that threaten man kind – make a giant robot. I swear the zombie apocalypse would be a 5 minute scuffle when up against a nuclear powered death machine.  Fortunately they won’t be doing that (Zombies are played out) they’ll be fighting against giant monsters and aliens – finally my life is complete.

Finally, BioShock Infinite. In four days this game comes out, we all play, joy.  And of course you’ll get all the reviewy goodness here at Video Game Armada. Stay tuned.

Trailer-Rama Week – Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

BioShock Infinite isn’t the only legacy I.P. coming out this month. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is releasing in theaters (in glorious IMAX no less) on March 30. This film is awesome for many different reasons: for one the man himself Akira Toriyama had a direct hand in this so you know it will good. The film is also the story of the lost years after the Majin Buu saga but before GT so it expands the DBZ mythos and thus the good DB stuff as a whole. Finally it seems like the whole Dragon Ball cast will play a part in this epic which if you know about the cast as much as I do then it going to be quite a show indeed. I can only see it getting better if the DBZ abridge guys would do their thing right after the movie. Now the only down side is that this film is only going to be released in Japan on the 30th (as I said before). But it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way worldwide and then we all can enjoy the beauty of giant death beams, dog faced deities, and lots and lots of yelling.

Trailer-Rama Week – Borderlands 2: Mayhem Approaches

Now don’t get me wrong fokes, I like Salvador the Gunzerker. I like his attitude, I like is zest for life, and most importantly, love how he mows downs legions of baddies with two high powered weapons. However I’ve always been that guy who clubbed you with a gun more often than shooting you with it. Seriously most of my confirmed killed in FPSes are either melee or knife, what can I say I’ll always bring a knife to a gun fight (which is odd because I could never use a shotgun worth a fudd). The point is the Gunzerker was the closest class I could find that fit my close quarter combat style – til now. In this next DLC we get another vault hunter who saves his ammo by turning enemies into red mist the ol’ fashion way – by Hulk smashing them. Yay! Sadly we won’t know anymore until Pax East but just by watching this trailer it shows you all important stuff about the character.

Trailer-Rama Week – Saints Row 4

Well people BioShock Infinite is coming out in a week and couldn’t be more excited – but am I ready? After spending all this time in my SimCity Zen garden, reflecting on my gaming journey to this point, and becoming one with the universe I’ve come to the conclusion, that, I miss taking out randoms with various weapons, powers, and my own two fists. I also miss bending over a boss and beating the sweet, sweet, loot out of it. Finally I miss that awesome feeling of playing a game from beginning to end, enjoying the experience, and letting you all know what I thought about it (and anyone else who asked). So am I ready? Oh heck yeah, but I’m still going to sharpen my skills til the game’s releases, so what that means is a full week of new trailers (with an extra trailer on Friday since I missed Monday). With that Saints Row 4! Yep slated as a DLC before THQ downfall, now in the reigns of Deep Silver it is a full-fledged game. So how do you top the awesome chaos that was Saints Row: the Third? By added super powers, aliens, and making the Saints leader (You) the president of the United States in the process. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: Video Game is the ultimate entertainment media.

This just in (Or not) – Megan Fox to be April O’Neil on new TMNT Movie

Yeah, I can see it.

Yeah, I can see it.

Ah the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The perfect example of the coolness of the 80’s: they are pizza eating mutates that lives in the sewer system of New York City who were also ninja taught by a man rat master and use said training to fight magic beings, interdimensional armies, and rival ninja clans lead by a dude called ‘the Shredder’ – what’s not to love. The series usually reboots every, oh I say, 7 years or so, and the latest run by nickelodeon is very impressive. However there hasn’t been a movie in a while, well it’s been a while since the Turtles was popular enough for another movie. Regardless there is a new movie in the works and Michael Bay is heading it, stop groaning – you love his movies, warts and all. So guess who got the role of famed journalistic hotie April O’Neil? Megan Fox, the same Megan Fox who says Bay ‘He wants to be like Hitler’ and swore never to work with the guy again. Let that be a lesion to you fokes… I’m not sure what it is, but it’s there. Anywho I’m sure she can do the job as Ms. O’Neil, afterall she’s got the body all she needs now is the jumpsuit and big hair. Stay tune for more alien/mutant news.

And now comedy at Michael Bay’s expense, sorry.
