[Update]: Well people, like I said, release dates do change and sadly Mighty No.9 is the first title to do so this year. The new release is hopefully 05/31/16, however that’s not confirmed on the official site. Sorry all.
If it looks like a Mega Man, talks like a Mega Man, and smells like a Mega Man – then it’s clearly a Mighty No.9.
You know lawyers are always the butt of jokes, victims of disdain, and often the first people others talk to when Johnny law comes a calling. If Phoenix Wright had a commercial then he would hit all the points. Wright is the main character in probably the world’s first lawyer simulator (and I use simulator quite loosely) where players must determent their defendant’s guilt or innocent (mostly they’re innocent) by using evidence, logic, and sometimes luck. Now even though this series does deal with the heavy elements of murder, the characters and world of Phoenix Wright is quite colorful. Robots, mascot dogs, silver samurais, rock groups, psychics, ghosts, the heart of the cards (not really), and more are part of this awesome Capcom series. So find your bluest suit, put a round gold pin on it, spike your and practice your pointing pose because….
Yes people! Sometimes the good guys can win! If anyone didn’t know I loved Project X Zone back in 2013, sure it was long but I like to think of it as part of the challenge. Plus who doesn’t like video game characters beating the crap out of inter dimensional baddies. Well recently they announced the sequel, Project X Zone 2, to come out later this year. As Frank would say – Fantastic! Now I’m not quite sure if this game continues the misadventures of Mii (not our Miis) and Kogoro but I do know PxZ 2 will have mix of returning and new characters from Sega, Bandai, and Capcom. I can’t wait… Watch the video and tell me that doesn’t get you ready. Waiting is the hard part… 😦
Hey hey hey & ho ho ho! It’s Christmas time again and we here at the Armada are back! Before we get started with the whole Game gift ideas and other Christmas goodies check this out:
Street Fighter V… The way of the fist will never end.
Now, depending on who you talk to, Mega Man is a character that many believe was abandon by Capcom. While I don’t personally believe it, there are alot of examples that would make a die hard blue bomber fan see it that way. Even Mega Man’s co-creator Keiji Inafune (Dr.Light, out of canon, as it were) is creating a game called Mighty 9 where its hero is very similar Mega Man himself – yet Capcom is oddly quiet about it (well as far as I know). Anyway I say Capcom still cares otherwise they wouldn’t let this living dynamo fight in smash this year. And for you purists out there, worry not, they ‘got’ Mega Man right in Smash; he’s fighting like they ripped him out of his 8-bit games. Now as to dress like the main mega man I got one word for you: blue – and lots of it! It’s even OK if you don’t have a mega buster (although bonus points if got one ready to go) but you’ll need a helmet otherwise people will think you’re part of the blue man group – unless that’s what you’re going for then never mind.
I’m glad to say that zombie fever is finally dying down, (of course that’s only until the next Walking Dead season starts, ugh…), but some works of fiction that features zombies is always OK in my book and Dead Rising 3 is one of them. One reason I love this game so much is that even though it’s a launch title they still make DLC for it (give me an example of a launch title for a new console that still has DLC released for them after six months), and Super Ultra Dead Rising 3: Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α Ultimate might be their best one yet (if not the most epic name ever). Now to the uninformed Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 (I’ll keep it short) may seem like just costumes, and they are in part, but those costumes give the characters who wear them a little bit of their powers and abilities like Mike Haggar’s wrestling moves or Felicia’s cat-like agility. What’s more is that they give a sheez ton of new modes, racing and even Boss fights. Best of all there’s no waiting for Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 – it’s available now! So why is this just an E3 pick and not a Game Review or even a Mini Game Review? Well… In my need to play the latest, greatest, games, sacrifices needed to be made and Dead Rising 3 was one of them. I regret it. However those smart people who kept their copies of Dead Rising 3 are in for a real treat; get Super Ultra Dead Rising 3: Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α Ultimate and fall in love with Capcom all over again.
April Fool’s day is great! It’s the one day of the year where you can openly deceive anyone you want without being labeled a jerk afterward. Usually I try to create an original April Fools post for the site, but this year I decided to post the top five April 1st ‘announcements’ I found on the internet because they’re way funnier than anything I could come up with. Enjoy!
5. Super Duper Street Fighter 4
Street Fighter 4 is easily Capcom’s greatest IP since they gave Mega Man the ol’ heave ho for some odd reason. As such they try to keep it going as long as possible by releasing ‘new’ versions like Super Street Fighter 4 or the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter 4. Even though fans like myself will always buy the new version because, ‘Hey! It’s Street Fighter!’, but we all know that their doing. Well Capcom isn’t going to let the fan base stop their roll as they just announced the next Street Fighter 4 title – all I got to say its Duper.
4. Titanfall: Optimus Prime DLC
Titanfall, for all my nitpicks, is still holding strong as a multiplayer title to while away the hours; so naturally they’re going to strike while the iron is hot with some DLC that is just prime. That’s right, the leader of the heroic Autobots will be players next Titan. Now although Optimus is a peaceful, diplomatic being when the freedoms of all sentient live forms are bring threaten he’ll throwdown like any giant death machine. My only complaint is where’s Megatron?! It ain’t a true metal on metal warfare without the brutal master of the Decepticons. Oh well – I guess we’ll have to wait til the next DLC for meggsy.
So why not Pokémon Masters? Yep Google announced yesterday (to throughout today) that they are looking for a Pokémon Master to work for Google. Using the Google map app on your smartphone they want applicants to get as many Pokémon entries as they can by exploring all over the world through forests, deserts, icecaps and yes grasslands. For many this is a once in a life time opportunity to not only to work for Google but to be an official Pokémon Master with business cards and everything. I myself would love to take the challenge but I already have a sweet gig exploring the nature of Pokémon’s dreams with Professor Burnet. I think we’re close to a breakthrough.
1. Will Smith NCR
Who doesn’t like Will Smith? That’s right nobody, a skilled TV and Movie actor most of the things he’s in are at least entertaining. However did you know he was a rapper back in the day, bet you didn’t. Well he decided to get back into his roots and release a new album called NCR. It’s not ready yet, but he was nice enough to put on YouTube one completed track as an audio appetizer for the things to come. It’s not bad in my humble opinion but we’ll see how the rest sounds when NCR is completed.
