Games and Gear (of 2017): Guardians of the galaxy – The Telltale Series

I am the vengeance, I am the night, I AM BATMAN! And I’m sick of Marvel ripping DC off!!!

Flicks of 2014 – Captain America: The Winter Soldier

After the ‘Avengers’ the team went their separate ways to take the aftermath of what happened: Iron Man picked a fight with a terrorist, Thor fought darkness and won, and in Captain America: The Winter Soldier it looks like the good captain will be kept busy as well. Fight enemies on the battlefield is easy, but fight changing ideology is hard, as S.H.I.E.L.D. is taking a more jack-booted approach to crime fighting. Now only that but it seems that a enemy from Capt’s past has returned and waging a personal war against him – and his allies. So what will he do? Will he change in this more fearful time to protect the greater good, or will he remain true to himself and what’s right. The only way to find out is to watch the movie and find out.

WTF/FTW: W2D2(What would Deadpool do?)

Deadpool manson

AGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! So horrible….. But I can’t…… Look away…..

You know, I would often wonder: ‘what would Deadpool do?’ I mean how would he do taxes? Or how would he handle rabid fan boy, could he create a stable model of cold fusion?  Well guess what people we can finally put our imaginations to the test. Thanks to the power of Facebook (and also Activison, High Moon studios, and Marvel) the master of bloodshed and chimichangas (Deadpool duh) will offer challenges for Deadpool fans to do in a way befitting Deadpool himself. Then post the pictures of the results on his Facebook page and the best (or most surreal) ones will make it on his Facebook favorites. So far two challenges have already been announced so you can work on them or wait for even crazier ones. Afterall there are still a few weeks before the game comes out, so I’m sure the next one Deadpool will brain fart out will be both parts deranged and fun.

And now, Deadpool the Watchmen. Together at last!

Trailer-rama – Dredd 3D

Next up is Dredd 3D, now this movie is based on the comic book (2000 AD) character known as Judge Dredd. He is a cloned super cop who brings law and order in a dystopian future; was makes him unique (outside the whole cloning bit) is that he (and all cops in his reality) have been given Judiciary powers. So not only can he arrest someone, but he can also judge them and then execute sentencing all at the same time. Of course is a future bad off as the one he’s living in, Dredd doesn’t usually deal with embezzlers or jaywalkers but rather giant mutants and the embodiment of Roman emperor Caligula. There was a movie called ‘Judge Dredd’ back in the 90’s and it was one of my personal favorites; I highly recommend watching both the original film and Nostalgia Critic review of it – both are equally entertaining. So as you can tell I’m glad to see the Judge back in action in the trailer (and the upcoming movie in September); the only thing that I didn’t like is that the new Judge Dredd costume is a little bulky. Take a look for yourself.

Future Flicks – The Dark Knight Rises

So yeah, just when you think The Avengers are going to be ‘the’ superhero movie of the year (heck maybe even the century); but then two days ago the people at large saw this trailer and well all nerd heck broke loose. It’s going to be a great summer people, and not only am I personally excited about the movie, but the awesome parodies ‘ItsJustSomeRandomGuy’s’ is going to come up with the two blockbusters. It’s going to be a great summer indeed.

This just in (Or not) – Dragon Age animated movie is coming to town

Well it’s more like and CGI / Anime movie but that just nit picking. Now love it or hate it the Dragon Age series have taken a life of its own; books, comics, slight tie ins’ with other games (i.e. Mass Effect), and the like grows their anthology by the day. This latest look into Thedas is called Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker where it chronicles the tale of Cassandra Pentaghast, a Seeker of the Chantry (and years later the interrogator of Varric in Dragon Age II).  In the film she seeks (get it) to stop a conspiracy from destroying the Chantry by demonic forces; this task is made difficult by her being label a traitor and hunting by both enemies and allies. Never the less she will stop at nothing to expose the truth and take her place as a holy knight. Now for me these ‘expanded universe’ stories are usually hit or miss, but throughout DA II various sources of information said that seekers are the most elite and fear of all Templar Knights – having no equal on the battlefield. Since Cassandra is a seeker (albeit a rookie one) we can finally see if these claims hold water or just disappointing story padding; the DVD will hit the states on May 29.
