Non-issue issue: Hayden Christensen might be in the next Star Wars films

HC is DV

“Deal with it.”

With only 81 days until the release of the next Star Wars film, Episode VII, people are getting an excited and the rumors are starting to fly. One rumor in particular is getting the loudest minority all up in arms: Hayden Christensen maybe returning to the Star Wars series in the new movies. To quote Obi-Wan to match the internet’s overblown reaction to the rumor: “I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror-“. People, really, this is a non-issue issue. Hayden Christensen’s role of Anakin Skywalker (pre Darth Vader) wasn’t the best, but it was far from the worst. Like the prequel movies themselves, Anakin was the origin story of Darth Vader they got, not the one they wanted. But people, he couldn’t be born force choking noobs and terrorizing the galaxy right out he gate. There had to be a reason why he was so malicious and almost inhuman inside and out in the original movies. The prequels did a good job not only showing how messed up Anakin life is and was (slave, mother was a slave, used by Jedi, used by Sith, in love but wasn’t allow in the order, hid his marriage, manipulated emotionally to do horrible things, turned into a cyborg, then died), but also a perfect example of how the road to hades is paved on good intentions. So people, whether the rumors are true or not, please let this non-issue issue go – it’s really not worth all the hate.

This just in (Or not): Stars Wars

Star-Wars-Episode-7

You know with all the celebrities who want a piece of the Episode VII goodness I’m tempted to create another segment on Armada to feature it. However I know it once the movie is made and canned I can’t use again until another I high profile Star Wars movie is in the works, and who knows how long that will be. So I’ve decide it will a sub-segment under the ‘This just in (Or not)’ line called Stars Wars (see I added an ‘s’), where I report on the huge onslaught of ‘A’ list actors wanting to be included in the next great sci-fi adventure. Today it’s Seth Green: you know him from such works as the Austin Powers movies, Mass Effect games, and Robot Chicken. He’s also quite the Star Wars fan and in an interview with Esquire (the killer of G4, remember) he mentions he wouldn’t mind being a part of the universe. Here the exert, but I recommend reading the whole thing, it’s very interesting (despite coming from Esquire):

ES: Has J.J. Abrams given you his blessing for the inevitable Robot Chicken parodies of his Star Wars sequels?

SG: I haven’t had a conversation with J.J. since he’s gotten the job. But for the record, I think he’s a great choice, and the perfect liaison for the old generations and new generations of Star Wars fans.

ES: Do you know him well enough that you could give him a call and say, “Hey, put me in the movies? I’ll take anything! Make me a ginger droid, whatever!”

SG: I wouldn’t pitch a specific character, but I’ve definitely mentioned to Kathleen Kennedy that if there was anything that seemed organically reasonable to put me in any of these movies, this would be the only time she’d hear me ask.

This just in (Or not) – JJ Abrams is slated to direct Star Wars Episode 7

Well people you can relax, JJ Abrams is heading up the upcoming Star Wars movie. In case you all have forgotten JJ Abrams is the guy who had a hand in many successful works of fictions like Lost, the 2009 Star Trek, Fringe, and more. So fanboys don’t need to worry about Jar-Jars Binks like aliens, long arse political struggles, and emo Vader (seriously people it wasn’t that bad).  At most the only thing we got to worry about is overly convoluted plots and odd abrupt endings – which sorta sounds like the prequels actually… Never mind, I’m sure everything well be fine.

Stay tuned for more Star Wars news.
