That’s right people we got, not one, but two movie reviews for you all today. One’s a movie everyone wants to see while the other is a movie people should see. So sit back and take it in; see if the Wolverine lives up to its hype and how well the snail told its tale.

Movie Review – Pacific Rim

Giant robots fighting Godzilla clones? You can’t go wrong here, our review of Pacific Rim.

Trailer-Rama (Superhero Edition): Iron Man & Superman

Yes, yes, yes! Iron Man 3 will be out tomorrow and you know the Armada staff will be seeing it and reviewing in a few days’ time. Rumor is that this will be the last of the Iron Man series of movies and in some ways I can see why. After all they want to bulk up more marvel heroes in movies and while Iron Man has already got his 3, there are still many more that haven’t even got out the gate yet. Still the more unreasonable side of me still wants more Iron Man movies no matter what. Well que sera, sera and all that because DC is finally there heavy guns into this fight with their upcoming ‘Man of Steel’ flick. You know the old say fokes (the other one anyway): when two competing comic book companies fight for movie viewership we all win!

This just in (Or not) – Godzilla and Jurassic Park 4 next year

Godzilla-and-Jurassic-Park-2014

Now as we all know 2013 is the Year of Luigi but what will be the theme of next year? Why giant reptiles of course – more to the point Godzilla and Jurassic Park 4. Yes Godzilla, the original overseas giant monster, is succumbing to the rebooting rage of current times. The 2014 version will feature:

“a much darker tone instead of having a fun, campy feel like the original Godzilla movies”

Which might be a mistake, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the move but certain movies are legendary because of its origins – warts ‘n all. Take the Evil Dead series for example, sure the originals were scary as sheez but they were also funny as sheez too (and they had Bruce Campbell in it –WTF). However the Evil Dead reboot, premiered earlier this month, had the horror but none (or rather very little) of the humor (nor anyone close to a Bruce Campbell character) and people did take notice. Again I’m not wishing doom on it before they can the sucker, but Godzilla is so memorable for the ridiculousness of it all – or are they telling me I need to take a giant radioactive fire breathing (green fire by the by) lizard who sometimes fights a golden three headed hydra seriously.

As for Jurassic Park 4, I’ll be honest, after the first one, I loss interest in the series because I knew the first one was going to be the best one –and once again I was right. Lost world and on was a sad, boring mess; even the CGI dinos was phoning in it. I thought this would never get another chance at greatness, but I underestimated the power of nostalgia. So now it’s got another chance at life, however since there is very little information on JP4 right now it’s hard to get excited for this one as well. Now if those respecting movie houses somehow combine Godzilla with Jurassic Park I would see that flick in a heartbeat, but as of now it’s just sometime worth mentioning. Stay tuned.

Godzilla the 90’s cartoon show was (say it with me now) awesome. Watch it on Netflix today!

Trailer-Rama: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Now people I didn’t have anything against  Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, I actually enjoyed it to a degree. Its story was rather complete, it tied up all the loose ends and all the characters more or less played their parts well. Now there is going to be a sequel: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see this one coming because the ending of the first movie was, again, rather complete. Also from the trailer something’s a bit off from the first flick, maybe it’s the voice actors, maybe it’s the premise, maybe it’s the fact that the sequel is four years apart. I don’t know, but the first movie was good despite my doubts so I’m willing to give Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 a chance.  And hey, if its bad then it would make a good review to listen to.

Trailer-rama – The Expendables 2

You know, you wouldn’t think a movie comprised of aging stars would be entertaining – BUT YOU’D BE WRONG!!!1 The Expendables was a white knuckled (but totally predictable) thrill ride of a movie that enjoyed all the corny but heart pumping conventions of 80’s films gone by. It had the unique advantage of having almost every well-known (or at least familiar) action star in it including Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and the former governator Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now the movie wasn’t perfect and a lot of the stars had only bit parts but all & all it was worth the money to see it. Now the sequel promises to be big, badder, and more action heroes doing what they do best: blow crap up! Sadly no Mr. T or Wesley Snipes but I won’t hold that against them – for now…

Movie Review – The Avengers (Part Five of Five)

Well this is it people, the final part of our massive Avengers review. Got to say it’s been a lot of fun; but I doubt will be doing this again any time soon. I mean movies of this epic proportions doesn’t come along very often. Then again the Spiderman and Batman movies are not to far along in the year are they? Stay tuned.

Movie Review – The Avengers (Part Four of Five)

Today in part four we check out the action in the this action superhero flick. Does it hold a candle to Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon? You all should know the answer by now. Enjoy.

Movie Review – The Avengers (Part Three of Five)

In part three we cover the more eye popping side of the movie, no not Black Widow (well not just) – I’m talking about visual and sound effects. Enjoy.
