Let’s Review: Sonic the Hedgehog

Let’s take a nice slow movie review about fasting thing alive!

That’s Gamertainment – Sonic Boom

The Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic SatAM to some), Sonic Underground, Sonic X. These are the great four Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons. Each one having their fans and detractors (Me? I’ve been an Adventures’ baby since the beginning) but they’ve been entertaining enough for kids and gamers alike. However its been a while since we seen the fastest thing alive on our screens in a non-console capacity. Enter Sonic Boom, a new CGI animated show featuring Sonic, Tails, Amy and super sized Knuckles. Details are a little light but it does seem closest to the Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog with a little SatAM thrown in. Wait! There’s more! They are also release Sonic Boom the  video game for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U; those titles will serve as prequels to the show.  So Sega seems to be trying the Marvel method of banding this time, will it generate the next generation of Sonic fans or will this gamble not paid off. I don’t know but I’m willing to give it a shot – stay tuned.

WTF/FTW – Sonic gets car insurance

Sonic the Hedgehog, he’s the fastest thing alive, and we all knew it was a matter of time. Maybe it was one too many head on collision with Dr. Robotnik (anyone who says Eggman is banned from – everything), maybe too many people were caught downwind of him after a chilly dog, or maybe him running on public roadways at his speeds qualifies him as a vehicle. Whatever the reason Sonic needed to get some insurance, which led to this commercial down below, all I got to say is WTF/FTW:

Gameroween – Video Game Characters that make good costumes (Day 9)

Sonic the Hedgehog; the world’s fastest teen-aged, blue, mammal was all the rage in the 90’s. In fact he and Mario started the first ever console wars where their games would always tried to 1-up each other. These days they’ve buried the hatchet and go in to more friendly competition games (SSB:B, not so much). One of the things their games both had in common was colorful characters and while Mario had Yoshi Sonic had Knuckles – and he wins. While not as fast as the ringed one he could bust through multiple stone walls without slowing down. Also Sonic needs Tails to fly, but the K-man can glide from one point to another with no sweat and what he can’t glide towards he can climb up using his massive fists. Finally when he started he was working with Dr. Robotnik, so he would be the series’ first antihero – he can certainly beat down that emo Shadow like he stole something. What I’m trying to say is that he’s not only a good costume choice but he deserves to be in the next smash bros game; I mean look at his hands, they were made to put Link in traction.

Knuckles and friends provided by Titanium at http://cosplay.paheal.net. The costumes are great but a little padding goes a long way.
