Let’s Review: Far Cry – New Dawn

It’s a not perfect, but it’s a ‘far cry’ from being awful! Like this joke! Anyway, here’s the long awaited review.

Quick Awesomeness: Battlefield Hardline (2015)

They never saw it coming! (I know it’s an oldie, but it’s still a goodie.)

Let’s Playthrough: Bayonetta 2 (Part 4)

Boss fight tyme! Don’t worry though, when it comes to big, long, floppy things Bayonetta is a pro at handling them.

Let’s Playthrough: Bayonetta 2 (Part 3)

You know who’s got some serious brass balls? Bayonetta. Too bad they’re inflamed.

Let’s Playthrough: Bayonetta 2 (Part 2)

Last time we left off Bayo’s sister, Jeannenene, got her soul blasted out her body; in which got snatched up by the underworld soon after. Can’t let that stand so she’s hunting down a door that will take her to the underworld to save her. But forget all that – look! A squirrel with bling on it! AMAZING!

Let’s Playthrough: Bayonetta 2 (Part 1)

We finished the first game so it was only a matter of time before we got back to Bayonetta. This time around though I got Blu as my wing man (woman?), so will she like the game or will she be offended by the huge amounts of T&A&T&T&A&T? Let’s find out as we begin Bayonetta 2.

Gameroween 2015: Video Game Characters that make good costumes (Phoenix Wright)

You know lawyers are always the butt of jokes, victims of disdain, and often the first people others talk to when Johnny law comes a calling. If Phoenix Wright had a commercial then he would hit all the points. Wright is the main character in probably the world’s first lawyer simulator (and I use simulator quite loosely) where players must determent their defendant’s guilt or innocent (mostly they’re innocent) by using evidence, logic, and sometimes luck. Now even though this series does deal with the heavy elements of murder, the characters and world of Phoenix Wright is quite colorful. Robots, mascot dogs, silver samurais, rock groups, psychics, ghosts, the heart of the cards (not really), and more are part of this awesome Capcom series. So find your bluest suit, put a round gold pin on it, spike your and practice your pointing pose because….

But I wasn’t done ye-

Fine whatever…

Gameroween 2015: Video Game Characters that make good costumes (Cole MacGrath)

There are reluctant heroes, there are emo anti-heroes, and then there’s Cole MacGrath. Cole was as painfully average as a person can be, a content parcel deliverer and I guess amateur parkour guy. Well most of that changed when a package he was delivering exploded in his hands. No, he didn’t die, but was galvanized with the ability to wield and weaponize electricity. Now most would be scared sure, for about a minute, but when they realize they can shoot lightening out their fingers then things aren’t so bad after all. Cole is just so mopey about that fact it’s really sad, unless he’s trying to be an evil then he’s an emo try hard. So why make him a costume choice if his character is so ‘Cole MacGrath’? Because Infamous 1 & 2 were awesome (Second Son wasn’t bad either), lightening powers are boss, and everyone else in the game other than Cole were just fine (even his future self was a more interesting (uh, spoilers)). In fact I’m changing the choice, be Kessler instead: cooler look, more powerful, better back story, triple ‘A’ choice right there. Dodged a bullet people, dodge a bullet.

Gameroween 2015: Video Game Characters that make good costumes (Bayonetta)

OK so this one is a little risky, and yes I wouldn’t wear this at any PTA Halloween mixer, but ladies you know you want to. I mean Bayonetta is a powerful witch that doesn’t take any mess, can rock any outfit from princess to her own hair, and has the best time management skills out of anyone I know. Halloween and Bayonetta just goes great together like high heel shoes and small caliber pistols. And what’s great about dressing up like her is that, like the Saint’s Row Boss, it can be practically anything save for two rules. One: low profile glasses are a must and two: the actual costume must a little provocative. Hey don’t look at me, I didn’t make up the rules, I just enforce them in a holiday devoted to candy and scaring people. If Bayonetta is not a fav then just disregard today pick; however if your brave, bold, and got the goods (and your know it) then suit up and strike a prose – your time is witch time this year.

Game Preview & Trailer-Rama: Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank are a rare breed – the mascot for a consoles. Most of the legacy mascots have either not lasted the test of time (a la Sonic & Mega Man) or just faded away (Jak & Daxter / Crash Bandicoot (maybe?)) but R & C have consistently headlined game after game with some stumbles but never stopped being great. Now not only are they getting a movie but a reboot to their series on the PS4. The movie is a sure thing, but the reboot I’m not sure of – I’m always for moving forward and not going back. However the opportunely of playing a reimagine version of the first Ratchet & Clank with improved plot, combined weapons from all their games, and PS4 powered visuals is too good to pass up. Sadly the game and movie won’t hit the silver and digital screen til next year, but we do have an awesome trailer showing that next year isn’t that far away. Enjoy!
