Armada’s E3 picks: Gauntlet (09/03/2014)

Ah GauntletThe first, true, co-op adventure. Where four random people of various backgrounds came together to achieve the goal of killing evil and taking their sheez. Back in the day the wizard was my guy; fast enough to avoid enemies, has a powerful ranged attack, and his magic bomb potions were the best. Good times indeed – now the current players of today can have a crack at this legacy title in one months time with its latest update. Yes my friends you too can select your favorite class out of four (Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie, and Elf) then dive head first into the unknown. Go for treasure! Go for baddie slaying! Go for the heck of it! But just remember to work together, Gauntlet isn’t for solo acts – unless your into Dark Soul moments get a buddy before going in.

Gameroween 2012 – Video Game Characters that make good costumes (Day 15)

One more day people, and for today we got a new, just realized, character to make into a costume: the Ghost of Merasmus the Bone Headed wizard of Team Fortress 2. Ok so technically he’s not a new character as he shows up during Halloween in Team Fortress 2; unfortunately he’s the most unlucky character in the TF2 universe and that’s saying something. Almost for the 2nd year in a row something happens to him that royally screws him over – starting with the Soldier being his roommate. Now the events of this year however have killed him and I would explain how, but again, I wouldn’t do the comic below any justice. So just read up and see how his tragic tale ties in to the 2012 Scream Fortress.

This is not Merasmus, but a dancing God of Mischief and lies – Loki. So yeah… This is as close as I got, sorry.

WTF/FTW – Daffy Duck: The Lollipop Chainsaw Wizard

Got a double header for you people to today; so remember Goichi Suda, also known as Suda51? Of course you have, he’s done many games over the years but is most famously (or recently) known for No More Heroes; a psychedelic adventure of one young otakus’ rise to become the ultimate assassin – with bloody results. How’s he going to top that with his upcoming game? With a perky zombie hunting cheerleader that has a severed head (still alive) tied to her leg and wields a hot pink chainsaw that weights more than her…. Crazy, mos def, but this is Suda we’re talking about here – if anyone can put lightning in a bottle, again, it would be him. Here’s the trailer.

The Looney Tunes Show which premiered early this summer showcases classic Warner Brothers cartoon characters in modern times as neighbors and friends. However that doesn’t stop the wacky adventures they have every episode. Without a doubt the character that certainly earned his name is Daffy Duck; while unemployed in reality he sees himself (and won’t mind telling people) as a wizard. I’ve written that off as one of the things that mad mallard says to get off of getting a real job – but when I saw this on the Merry Melodies segment I thought:

a) Epic

b) I’d watch that spin off show
