That’s Gamertainment – Conan’s Clueless Gamer on WWE 2K14

There are loads of laughs and even laughing out loud, as you check out Conan O’Brien as he and Aaron review the WWE 2k14 video game for the Xbox 360.

Clueless Gamer, a regular feature of Team Coco (Conan O.), commands quite a few regular subscribers, over 1.5 mill.

Conan had just over 1.6 million views for this segment with thousands of comments from his viewers, both good and not so good.

You would think with such a massive following and with his regular offerings, that there would be some element of sanity or even a credible review. . .WRONG, hey it’s Conan we’re talking about. Not only are his reviews funny, profane and awful, Conan as the title alludes to, has no clue how to even play video games!

His fight with Kane, while he plays Sheamus, contain moves only he could have managed to come up with.

Conan’s successful style is attributed to randomly hitting keys on the controller. Conan has created a pretty spiffy character though, with an even cooler entrance, complete with special moves, GO Conan!

Well take a look, you wrestling fans and gamers, go nuts and be sure to leave Conan a comment or two to grow on.

Characters of Color: The Rock

The-Rock-dwayne-the-rock-johnson

Do you smell what the rock is cooking?

Ok enough with the sad stuff or the soap box, time for some fun, and what better character of color that represents best of awesome fun than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Born from wrestling legacy, The Rock ‘was’ the WWF in the 90’s (next to Stone Cold Steve Austin) as his move set, mic skills, and overall charisma won over even the most smartest of MARKS. He won multiple titles, multiple times, and even invented a word that to this day is still used in WWE and the modern day lexicon. Now in a move I’ve slowly accepted over the years, he made the choice to go into the acting. He has good movies (The Mummy Returns, The Scorpion King, etc.) and a lot of stinkers too (Doom, Tooth Fairy, etc.), but it doesn’t even matter what character he plays, what movie it is, or how well it (or he) does because the man is such a likeable force that The Rock will always do well. Whether it’s Dwayne Johnson or the ‘The Rock’, it doesn’t matter what his name is, he’ll always be a character of color and the people’s champion.

Mini Game Review: Rockpocalypse

wwe rockpocalypse

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; well if that’s the case then Infinity Blade is flattered beyond recognition because I have another game biting of their style. This time it’s from the good people of the world wrestling entertainment federation and stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. So what do you do if people all across a movie studio suddenly and inexplicably turn into YouTube commenters, er I mean, rage filled thugs out of blood? Well if you’re the Rock you beat sense into them with wrestling moves, blunt objects, and of course pie. But unlike Power Rangers Legends, which was terrible, Rockpocalypse is not so bad. Swiping attacks is fluid and responsive, quick time attacks (which activate the slams and signature moves) are easy to do but are still challenging on tougher opponents. Weapons and armor (which is mostly t-shirts, jeans, and boots) actually make noticeable improvements to the Rocks offensive and defense abilities. You can’t block with the rock, but the touch swipe controls and opponent tells allows for decent parries that will leave enemies open for further smack downs. Finally the game is free which is a define plus. The game would have earned a pass on those merits alone, but the game plays sluggishly for anything less than the top of the line tablets and smartphones. Can’t even download it for first gen tech so it loses points for that; but never the less as Infinity Blade offshoots go Rockpocalypse does the medium with respect – if you smell what the rock is cooking.

Sweet Christmas! – WWE Ring the bell

WWE-Ring-the-bell

The Christmas Season puts everyone in a festive mood, from average joes like us to 441 lbs, 7ft tall giants that could kill you with one punch. Yes even the good folkes at World Wresting Entertainment takes time out from causing each other tremendous amounts of pain to one another and sing about how awesome the holidays are. And if you’re thinking this is quite surreal I guarantee you’re not the only one with that thought in your head.

Seeing the WWE Hall of Fame inductees and Flo Rida confronting Heath Slater was also awesome. It wasn’t perfect, but it was money well spent. I hope you guys enjoyed the show, I know I did. What Santa brought me (Product Placement) – Zack Ryder Baseball cap

Ok broskis the next Christmas gift we got is a bit more practical but still smacks of awesomeness – the Zack Ryder Baseball cap. Now a little backstory; Zack Ryder is a wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) but he was under rated and destined for obscurity – that is until he used the power of the internet to change is fortunes. I’m serious, he’s been doing a once a week show on youtube that has gained a following so massive that it propelled him to stardom in the organization (and the show is not even a year old yet!). As such all sorts of new merch has been created and I have one of the newest ones; but is it worth the extra Christmas rush pricing?

The Look: The colors are black, orange, and purple – a scheme that usually reserved for Pimp M.O.D.O.K. For the hat however it works, on the front is a funky jagged Z with a jagged spike through the middle. On the back has one simple yet proud statement: Broski. The ‘O’ on the word is shaped like a diamond with the Z spike inside of it as well.

The Operation: You apply directly to the top part of head.

The Result: It protects your eyes from the sun, keeps your head moderately warm and as an added bonus – looks cool.

The Verdict

This hat makes proud to be a Broski! It’s unique but not the eye catcher you would expect. Comfortable and has a nice embedded rim all the way around, no need to play around with the size tabs on the back. Finally it’s just a good gift; I would have been satiated with an Antonio Spurs cap but this much better.

Character Quotes – Ken Anderson aka Mr. Kennedy/Anderson

MR !!!!

ANDERSON !!!!

“Pro wrestling is real, people are fake!”

OK people I got my high and mighty pants on so bear with me. *Ahem*

I am a wrestling fan, always had been since the ‘attitude era’ and a little before that. I’m proud to admit that to anyone and everyone, there is something about wrestling that not like other forms of entertainment. Where the audience watches the athletes not only doing battle in the ring but before and/or afterwards. We identify with them, we rally to support or defeat them, and we’re excited when they come to our towns and countries to settle their conflicts of the day. And while I’m not here to argue where the wrestlers being and the ‘entertainment’ ends it is clear that pro-wrestling effects our culture big or small. It never fails though, sooner or later you’ll meet the person who will always spout ‘Wrestling isn’t real’. As if fans of wrestling have a learning disability or somehow made a mistake in their program of choice on TV. What makes WWE or TNA any less ‘real’ than say ‘Jerseyshore’, ‘The Hills’, or even anything on the Fox News Network. Compared to those examples (and many more), professional wrestling is Masterpiece Theater wrapped in Crime and Punishment. Yet the arrogance continues, and will do so until the end of time I’m afraid. Now wrestling organizations have nothing to fear from these people, after all they continue to make money hand over fist; but watching TNA one night brought a smile to my face because one of their newly acquired wrestler, Ken Anderson, was wearing a t-shirt with today’s character quote on it for all the world to see. That was a ‘crowning moment of awesome’ for the industry; because not only does it put things in perspective about sports entertainment and general society as a whole but they did it in tee-shirt form – excellent.
